GRID TECHNOLOGIES

ITlink has been involved in High Performance Computing since 2000 and, more recently, is involved in EU FP6 projects related to research and development in Grid Technologies:

• at technical level, the ITLink IT laboratory interfaces directly the largest Italian research Centres and Industries involved in Grid Technology.
• at European level, contact with SMEs in Grid research areas have been established.

Recent contributions in Grid research have been provided in applications related to electromagnetic simulation and design.
In this area, the huge request of computing takes benefit from distribution of tasks on a Grid network.

Moreover, the synergy between ITLink capabilities in Internet technology and in Grid technology allows the research and development in high performance web services, where the server side can benefit from parallel computation.
